Just to stop all of you house crackers from asking me any more annoying “When are you gonna update your site dude!?!?!” questions, no, I didn’t die, yes, I’ll update soon, yes, Matt Mooney is falling off. I have money-related projects circulating right now, and that’s far more important that making this website (for free), no matter how much I may love you all (no ayo). P.S. If anyone’s driving to L.A. anytime soon, and you have some trunk space, let me get in on that because allegedly, it’s 72-degrees there for the next ten days, whereas we have this 92-degrees with humidity nonsense. P.P.S. I have some administrative, design, etc. shit to take care of before I can resume normal updates so bear with me. |

| Dear Summer |

Regardless of what the nerds in labcoats may say about solstices and all that nonsense, in my book, the first day it hits 90 degrees, summer begins. It’s hotter than a muhfuckah outside, and I am currently in the midst of recovering from a hot-pocketed ankle and sitting out this first mini-heatwave, so here’s an update if you’re waiting for the sun to go down… It’s pretty safe to say that skateboarding has essentially become a homoerotic art gallery, so as apart of our “Bringing Sketchy Back” movement, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to start lowering standards for all of your favorite New York spots — in hopes of making it acceptable to film there when you’re not capable of switch varial heel noseblunts. First up, is the much beloved Flushing Meadows Park, which Pryce, Zach, Skinhead Mike, Isak, Brengar and I recently ambushed with a barrage of “below-average” and “not serious” tricks in order to get the art fags all uptight in their slip-ons. You can observe the nonsense here. Anybody in the market for a Century Optics Mark 1 lens for a VX1000? I’m selling mine. Normally, I don’t post spot updates that I can’t confirm from firsthand experience, but this is coming from a reliable source. Lenox Ledges (AKA the only decent ledge spot you can skate during the daytime in Manhattan) is now officially a bust. Just in time for summer. I’m about a week late on this, but Steve put up a new montage over at Square Films. Now that the most known unknowns have become pop culture darlings due to their MTV show, most of you are probably going to get all riled up with your insecurities insiting that they “sold out” or how “they used to be better before they became mainstream,” but as far as I’m concerned, this new song with Lil’ Jon and Pat is one of the greatest things ever recorded (and it has, bar-none, the greatest hook in Hypnotize Minds history). This song with Pat and Paul over the “Hustlin’” beat is also bound to put a smile on any hater’s face as well. I’ll see you when it goes below 80 again. |

This is the earliest I’ve been up on a Saturday since probably 1995, so enjoy the update. Back to bidness.. I’ve dug up more bootlegs and b-sides from the QS vault for your viewing pleasure, and a look into the golden age of website crews. Since neither of them had footage in the last clip (due to legal obligations), here’s an early edit of Ben’s suppossed-to-be part in the pre-QS video (that obviously never happened) [Youtube / Download or stream a Quicktime file] and another early edit of Pryce’s part from the Baby Steps video by Rob Butterfield [Youtube / Download or stream a Quicktime file]. Miles Marquez: Circa 2017 (TheCobraSnake is appearantly a portal into the future) There’s nothing more affirming of your masculinity, streed cred, or what have you than anonymously complaining on a message board when somebody at Supreme doesn’t offer you a complimentary blowjob when you buy your new pair of Dunks. Do you assholes go there to socialize with the employees or to buy things? I randomly ran into this photo of Quim that was taken on Harrison Street in Hoboken on my computer the other day. This is essentially the worst spot in the history of spots, and it’s worth going out there just to see how horrible the ground is. I felt it should be worth sharing with the nerd population because it really is one of the best achievements in ollie history. Why every rapper insists on “putting on” their wackass crew whenever they blow up will always be a mystery to me. Japan evidently took my advice of trading Danny, because he seems to be continuing his modeling career over there, even though evidently, they make him get in significantly less suggestive poses. A lesson to all you geeks who insist on doing 720 shove-its out of every trick in order to make your lines interesting. Regarding the classic photo up top, the twenty year anniversary of this fight is coming up in eleven days, hit me up if you’re celebrating the good ol’ days. Steve Marino has a blog. Your new #1 source of drunken New York skater photos. |

That’s right. You motherfuckers don’t know how to act. Landing sketchy tricks, filming with my foot, editing crosseyed. It’s getting hot out there, so this is probably going to be the last full length clip you’re going to see until maybe September or October. As far as fall-offs go, a classic picture of Danny getting hit with a water balloon should let you know the deal. Mooney was in jail for two weeks while this clip was being filmed, so he only has a fall in it. And most importantly, this is (probably) the first Quarter Snacks clip in history with no Benjamin Nazario sightings. That’s just because Ben is facing indictment on several human trafficking charges, so he’s had his hands too full to skate. The charges most likely won’t stick, so you’ll be seeing him soon. |

The 57th Street ledges got knobbed. I guess there’s only so many times you can go to a spot between a bunch of apartment buildings in the middle of the night before people really start complaining. Normally, I reserve spot updates for small blurbs in bigger posts, but when you go to the same five spots every time you go above 14th Street and one of them gets knobbed, it is a pretty big deal. More details here, here, here, here, and here. The knobs are basically the cheapest ones you could get, so some of you with no warrants might want to get busy with liberating that. Breaking News: Mooney can read. |
