A Quarter Snacks Halloween: Part 1

oct312007.jpg

This is a small appetizer for the Halloween festivities yet to come, because I still need to edit, Part 2 of a QS Halloween, better known as the greatest achievement in cinema ever, over the next day. This is the world famous, Billy Rohan ninja clip. Some have seen it, some haven’t, take it or leave it. Billy gave it to me a while back, since it’s from a few Halloweens ago, and this seemed like the most appropriate time to post it.

A QS Halloween Part 1

Stay tuned for what’s to come.

Links For a Rainy Afternoon

Here’s some things that have stood out on the internet over the past few days. Just some things to get through the rainy weekend… which I’m sure will be spent skating indoor…bars..

Ted Barrow interviewed Shane Bovell on his blog about some wonderful, back in the day, New York nostalgia. Features all the hallmarks of early-to-mid 90s skateboarding in New York: the Banks, board jackings, Kyle James, getting sawed offs pulled on you, etc.

Staying on the topic off olden day New York skateboarding, 48 Blocks has a Steve Rodriguez interview up.

Here’s a few alternate cuts of some parts from Lurkers 2 that I found floating around on Youtube: Dharam Khalsa, Ted Barrow, Alternate friends montage and Billy Rohan.

There are some more photos from the premieres last weekend just in case you haven’t had enough, here and here.

Guy Mariano x The Geto Boys (Old one, but a good one).

God Invented Crack

And finally, in preparation for this much anticipated November 7th, Crank dat Killa Cam. (It’s only right).

First Of All, I’d Like To Thank My Connect..

oct252007.jpg

The most important person, with all due respect.

Rob Harris, owner of one of the central indoor lurk grounds on the Lower East Side recently contributed a clip of some random bums on wheels he associates with. The clip features Jake Johnson, Bosco, Dario Phillips, Pryce Holmes, Zach Malfa Kowalski, Kyle Iles, Lurker Lou, Dan Forkin, Ted Barrow, Brandon Bramhall, Mike Gigliotti, Taji Ameen, Brian Kelly, Brett Land, Keith Denly, and Billy Rohan. Click here to download. Expect a full length video from all these people in the next few months. (With a Quarter Snacks montage included).

Now on to the more important news of the day…

october252007.jpg

Killa has returned.

While he should’ve had a steady place on the universal fall-off list for the past two years (If only I had the heart to do it), all while taking account a slight spark in the form of incessant anti-Curtis ramblings, I have a pretty good feeling this is going to save music (and high society). And not just in a backpacker “Hip Hop is dead dudes!”-way, but it is going to reconstruct the way the entire world understands music. And yes, I am fully acknowledging that the Dips have been on a heavy downward trajectory for the past two years, but this return just seems too triumphant..

If my expectations are met on that November 7th morning, my computer will get putin’ and there will be a new clip. If not, then all hope for society is lost.

New Thirsty Teaser

oct212007.jpg

Justin White is making a Jersey-based video, due out Spring 2008. A teaser clip for it was screened between the Chapman video and Static III at the premiere this past Thursday, but here is it for extensive viewing pleasure. New Thirsty Teaser. For the record, once this video comes out, it is going to change the world’s outlook on pretty much everything.
