Ryan Hickey - Back Tail @ Time-Life - Sometime in the 90s I haven’t posted some old photos in a while, and it’s cold as hell out, so this is a particularly appropriate way to update for the time being, or at least until the highs begin to be above 40 degrees again. Normally, I wouldn’t do a single post linking to a video released over ten years ago, hosted off a third party video sharing site, but we’ll have to make an exception. (You’ll also have to pardon me if I’m late on this, but prior to me stumbling upon this tonight, this video only existed in cut up, part-by-part sections on YouTube as far as the internet goes). Basically, the third greatest skateboard video ever released is now on Google video, in it’s entirety. While some videos have managed to make their way to restored editions on DVD, it’s pretty safe to say that the vast majority of early-to-mid 90s skateboarding will never see it’s way to DVD, BluRay, HDDVD, or whatever stupid format they came out with this week, and will only live on through limited, worn-out VHS dubs and the occasional .mpg file on the internet if we happen to be so fortunate. Plus, I’m pretty sure the companies behind these videos have shifted their focus to getting more of their products into Pac Suns throughout every mall in the country to ever show interest in restoring some classic videos to DVD. In this instance, we just so happen to be fortunate enough that it finally made it’s way to the internet in an unobstructed format (meaning, it’s a one stream video). Sit back, crack open a beer, a Pepsi, or whatever else you may drink, spark whatever drugs you smoke, and enjoy the third best video ever made.. |

| Ian Reid’s Video: Bootlegs & B-Sides |
![]() |
|
As of June 15th, Ian Reid’s Video Remix is available. Instead of writing a review for it, I figured we’d do something else. While all versions of the videos contain similar boobs and ghetto antics, the skating in each one tends to change more than anything else, even though it’s prioritized as third in the Sex, Hood, Skate and Videotape title. The following videos are small sections that were filtered out as the video got cut down or drastically different sections from the first edition of the video, when it was still called Tales From the Hood and passed around on DVD-R, before it became an internet sensation. Rodney Torres Section Original Chris Schiafone Part, Lil’ Jason, Charles Lamb & Philly Section Kyle James Bonus Section Brian Wenning & Ian Reid - First Edit Watch trailer for the remix video Add QS on Myspace to know when interesting things go on here And if any of you contact me through my non @quartersnacks.com e-mail, I switched to gmail instead of yahoo, so it’s basically my full name @gmail.com, not yahoo. Or you can just send it to info@quartersnacks.com and I’ll get it there anyway. Make sure you pick up the remix video because Mooney has a trick in it. |

There have been a lot of long, lost items that I’ve been on the search for, and two have just recently come to light.. The Forgotten City.com posted the 411 Washington DC Metrospective a couple of days ago, and it is far and away the best regional montage in the history of regional montages. Until people from your city start doing switch flip front noses in Timbs, you can’t really compete with it. Even with Youtube and all that, I still haven’t come across it since about four years ago when they had a VHS dub of it at ABC. This has nothing to do with skateboarding, but some random hip-hop blog uploaded 80 Blocks From Tiffany’s in eight parts on Youtube. If you have any interest in gangs, New York, the 70s/early 80s, you liked Style Wars, Downtown 81, Wildstyle or any documentaries from that era, it’s definitley a must watch (no, it’s not about art or graffiti). Otherwise it only floats around on shitty dvd-r copies on eBay. Pardon me if I’m late on this, but when did Ryan Sheckler get down with Lil’ Jon and BME? It’s going back up to 90-degree highs this week, enjoy tonight and tomorrow, because real summer is just about here.. |
