The Snackman VS The Snow, Man

Unless you’re the type to head out to Drop In, chances are, you’re going to be spending your long weekend pretty skateboardless. No worries, plenty of time to get drunk, buy new Dunks, cry when Supreme doesn’t have your size, and make sure your outfit matches. Here are a few things to help you get through your Friday before you go out to get drunk, high, or whatever the hell you do when you can’t skate.

The New York Skate Movie Trailer: This was new to me, and honestly, it got me more psyched to go out and skate than any skate video I’ve seen in recent memory. It makes a pretty interesting thesis, suggesting that the core of street skating’s development actually happened in New York, and not California, so I’ll definitely be on line to catch this when it (supposedly) comes out this Spring.

Two months after Isak got back, I finally posted The Euro Report Finale.

Chairman of the Board is a pretty interesting article from the D.C City Paper about Darren Harper, and how he came up in skateboarding. It makes the same mistakes that pretty much every writer outside of skateboarding does, but is worth your time either way.

48 Blocks has been posting a lot of good things recently: German Nieves Interview, Window Shopping at it’s finest, and Classic SF Footage.

Jersey Dave: Banned From Boston

Pryce Holmes: Tallest Skater in New York City

This guy is my new favorite musical artist of all-time. Dude has five albums out. Five. I got a lot of catching up to do.

I don’t need a magazine cover to tell me that Lil’ Wayne is homo (Actually, yes I do), but he is officially in the ranks of Lupe, Pharell, The Pack, and the other skateboard rappers because of this. “The Block Is Hot” era needs a comeback.

Three 6 Mafia Vs. Being John Malcovich. Thank you God, for placing me on the same earth as these great people.

New York City plans to ban iPods from being used on city streets. Yeah, good luck enforcing that.

And finally, what better way to cure the wintertime blues than with Jeezy the Snowman, he’s iced out, plus he got snow, man!

Don’t forget about the Harold Event tomorrow. I’ll see all of you when it gets warmer, and the snow is gone.

And yes, this is, and probably forever will be, the earliest update in Quarter Snacks history. 7AM. And I have an 8:30 class. Grindin’.
