The Quarter Snacks spot directory is merely an introduction to New York and several regions just outside of it. This by no means is an accurate display of everything New York and New Jersey have to offer, just an assortment of the more popular spots and several random, potentially lesser known objects found on the city streets. Enjoy exploring and skating, and have fun.
For those who have been known to insist that such resources are a means of "blowing up" spots, your advice is irrelevant. There are about a total of five spots listed here that provoked a feeling of hesitation before they were put up. Manhattan, below 125th Street has absolutely nothing that you could call "low key," so any complaints in regards to listing Manhattan spots and "blowing them up" are really of those who are new to these areas, and gas themselves up on the assumptions that they are aware of some exclusive barrage of spots. Notice how there are five spots above 125th Street listed, nineteen in total for the two biggest boroughs in the city [Queens & Brooklyn], and absolutely none listed for The Bronx or Staten Island - yet somehow, they all manage to appear in clips. So this is by no means a directory of every spot we know, but merely an introduction.
To report any news of spots getting skatestopped, torn down, altered, put under construction, having new security, etc., feel free to e-mail us via the address listed on the bottom of every page. We try our best to accommodate any news on spots with individual announcements on each location's separate page, but it is not always possible to be immediate with these things once they come to light. Otherwise, consult the spots board on OfficialNewYork.com.And just in case it had to be mentioned, The Quarter Snacks Movement is not responsible if you get arrested, ticketed, kicked out immediately, robbed, beat up, shot, stabbed or raped at any of the spots listed. And obviously, pictures make things look smaller, bigger, less steep, more steep, smoother, etc. than they may really be. So prepare yourself for a bit of false advertising and don't expect every spot to be exactly how you imagine it to be on the basis of pictures and descriptions.
Quarter Snacks does not list skateparks in the spot directory (and never will).
