surf avenue banks
coney island
This is one of the spots that immediately puts forth the question of what the place's purpose is if they didn't make it just for skating. The bank/mini-hip is perfect in every way. It has ample runway, is painted just enough to be smooth, yet not too slippery, and is wide enough for pretty much any trick you could think of, not to mention the fact that it becomes a wall at the top for wallrides and wallies. Other than that, there is a rather steep eight-stair handrail that can only be skated backside for regular, frontside for goofy. Right behind the bank are two four sets separated by about five feet of sloped flat.

Do not come here with more than three people. Large crowds are usually the only things that get people kicked out of here, unless you happen to have really bad luck.

Surf Avenue and 24th Street in Coney Island. Take the Q train to Coney Island and skate down Surf Avenue until you reach 24th Street.
