Tribeca Park
tribeca
There is no common name for this spot. Itís a park, and itís in Tribeca, so for the sake of making things simple, we are going to call it the Tribeca Park

This spot is one out of many small low-key spots you can hit alongside the Hudson River. There is an abundance of low, curvy marble ledges spread throughout the park that will typically require a bit of waxing to get going. In addition to those, thereís a long, waxed granite ledge on the opposite end of park parallel to the bike track that can also be skated, although it only has one end on it. Inside of the park enclosure, there is a mellow concrete bank thatís only about four-feet wide, in addition to more of the same kinds of marble ledges.

Usually, you can have a solid thirty to forty minutes before the parks department cruises by on their golf carts. They will usually try to exercise powers they donít actually have, like threatening to have you arrested, but itís best to just ignore them and leave. Or you can avoid them altogether and skate here at night. Just be careful at the end of the month when quota-time rolls around.

Leroy Street and the West Side Highway. Take the A, C or E to Canal Street, skate west until you hit the Hudson River, and skate north until you see two, 30-foot tall towers and the park runs around that. Itís right after a big dog park.
