This spot is a newly-constructed addition to the many other spots in the area, although it can dominantly only be skated during the winter due to its location. There are six up-ledges on a pretty heavy curve that require massive amounts of speed and wax in order to get any distance on them [the pictures here were taken when the spot was only a few months old and recently sand-blasted, but they should probably be waxed better by now.] There are a bunch of knee height ledges stacked on top of each other in the fountains of this spot, although they can only be skated during the winter when the fountains are empty. In the center of the spot is a statue structure set atop of three oversized steps that can be skated either as mini-gaps with short runways, manual pads or really low ledges. There's also a couple very low, foot and a half high pillars coming out of the ground all over to do tricks over.
This spot can be skated either really late at night throughout the warm seasons or any time when it's cold out because there won't be as many people seated all over the ledges. There's no security or anything in the area to kick you out, although on very rare occasions, cops have been known to tell people to leave.
59th Street and 8th Avenue. Take the A, B, C, D, 1 or 9 to 59th Street-Columbus Circle and the spot is right outside.
