east river launch
fdr drive
This spot is rarely skated, but is worth a mentioned merely because there is nothing else like it throughout the city. It runs alongside a ledge on a road next to the FDR Drive on a four foot high extension above a side street. The runway for it is both wide enough (around three feet) and long enough, except after you actually ollie onto the ascension (it's only an inch or two off the initial platform), the ramp itself is only about two feet wide. It grows to be near six feet at the top, which is where you would ideally pop your trick off of. The landing is onto a smoothly paved asphalt street with minimal traffic.

You will not get kicked out of here.

In the late-20s to lower-30s alongside the East River (there are no numbered streets here). Take the 4, 5 or 6 to 23rd Street and skate east until you reach the East River. Make a left and skate alongside the water and you should eventually see it on your left side.
