emigrant bank
grand central area
It is almost useless listing this here given how many better spots are in the area, but it's worth the mention because it serves as a retreat if you happen to get kicked out of every other possible location in Midtown on any given night. There are two, fifteen foot long, foot high marble ledges that slope down, making themselves act more like marble flatrails you need to pop out of instead of regular ledges. There is also another metal topped ledge in the same type of shape with only about twelve feet of runway, but skateable if you throw your board down and hit it. The spot's on the sidewalk, but the ground in front of the building is all smooth marble.

You don't get kicked out of here after the bank closes, which is around 6 P.M., but given that it's half a block away from Grand Central, there will be a steady flow of pedestrian traffic any time before 9 P.M.

43rd Street in between Vanderbilt Avenue and Madison Avenue. Take the 4, 5, 6 or 7 42nd Street-Grand Central, skate west on 42nd Street for half a block, make a right on Vanderbilt Avenue, skate north for one block and make a left on 43rd Street.
