This spot is the only skateable portion of Bryant Park that you could find, given that the rest of the park is topped off with really choppy, stone-like ground. Alongside the Library side of the park on the 42nd Street is the only portion of the four square block park that people skate. There is an ascending, waxed granite ledge that starts out in one-inch height and grows to be about three feet. It is a part of a handicap ramp that has a three-foot high, mellow round rail going down it, and a seven star handrail that is backside for goofy/ frontside for regular footed people. The only problem with it is that you have to push up the entire handicap ramp to gather up speed for it. The ramp itself is fairly mellow, although long. There are also several five-stair rails that you need to perform a minor curve-into so that you could skate them. They are skateable from both sides.
