rail-to-drop
first avenue
Update ‚ Summer 2007: This spot has been completely renovated and there is not much to skate here aside from several sets of stairs. The pictures for the spots after the renovation are the last ones.

This is a commonly neglected borderline-Midtown spot. In a small plaza designated for residents of the building which it is apart of, there are a couple sets of six steps and a over-sized three set, which is proceeded by a foot and a half high flat-rail to drop, which winds up making a four-foot high drop overall. There's only about fifteen feet of space between the steps and the rail itself so you will need to set up quickly. In back, there is also a five stair with ample runway and a handrail to do tricks over if you have the pop for it.

The cameras here are typically very avoidable, so provided that you don't constantly keep passing them, you shouldn't get kicked out.

59th Street and First Avenue. Take the F, N, R, W, 4, 5 or 6 to 59th Street-Lexington Avenue and skate east for four blocks. It is up the stairs on the corner.
