exchange place
downtown jersey city
This spot would be ideal had it not been for the 1) rough ground that takes up a good 75% of it and 2) bust factor. It contains assortments of ledges of all different heights, set-ups, surfaces etc. Several of them contain granite blocks at the top so you could skate them as step-up ledges. Alongside the water, there are sets of five, four, and three scattered throughout, all slightly oversized. There are loads of handicap ramps descending alongside ledges here, making it possible to skate them from a much higher level, making the actual rail significantly lower. Towards the southernmost end, there is a wide granite manual pad/ledge over three stairs.

Normally, unless you are really careful in dodging all the security windows, or you come really late, you will get kicked out in under ten minutes. Don't even think of coming here during the daytime unless you're willing to skate here in the dead of winter when the security guards don't bother patrolling the outside area.

Montgomery Street and the Hudson River in Downtown Jersey City, NJ. Take the Path Train to Exchange Place and it is right outside.
