105th street rail
west harlem
The fact that you have to get all the way up to 105th Street to skate an imperfect rail like this one is a true testament to the scarcity of handrails in the city that grant you more than five minutes of time to skate them before you get kicked out. This rail is fairly low, round, and with an excellent landing composed out of smooth asphalt. It stands at a happy medium between mellow and steep, and the steps themselves are somewhat smaller than an average nine, so the rail isn't too long. The central imperfection would be the ground up top, which is choppy sidewalk. Other than that, it's impossible to skate during any warm season given the amount of little kids that are going to crowd you and get in your way from the park. It's more of a winter spot, or an early morning spot during a warm season.

You won't get kicked out of here.

Amsterdam Avenue and 105th Street. Take the 1 or 9 to 104th Street, skate east one block, and north one block to 105th Street.
