66th street gap
upper east side
Update 05/31/06: The ledge off of which you ride to ollie over the planter has been skate stopped with inch high spikes.

This spot's central obstacle has gained recent infamy due to a burst of video and magazine appearances. It is a gap off a five-foot high platform over a four-foot wide planter positioned on the ground, two feet out past the ledge. It's ideal in every way, from run-up to landing, you shouldn't have any trouble skating it. Other than that, there is a seven-stair set with amble runway and a sidewalk landing with two rails going down alongside it from the wall. In front, there is a ten stair with a runway that requires you to ollie up a curb ten feet before the steps star. There's also a seven set in front with a really steep rail that could be ollie/flipped over, but probably not slid down due to the steepness.

Usually, you won't get kicked out of this spot, but if you happen to be unlucky enough on any given day, the building does have security guards and they will kick you out.

66th Street and 2nd Avenue. Take the 4, 5 or 6 to 72nd Street, skate east on 72nd for two blocks, make a right on 2nd Avenue and skate south for six blocks.
