Update 05/31/06: You can't really skate here anymore because there are giant construction pillars implanted in the ledges, and all the white paint has been stripped off the ledges, so it is just bare concrete.

Here there are a bunch of white painted ledges surrounding the entire front of the museum. The ledge in the middle is around a foot and a half high and circles around a group of plants, in addition to being the only ledge that doesn't have a four foot drop over the other end. All the others are slightly higher, and are only skateable from one approach given that they all have drops on the other side that you can fall into if you don't lock into your trick correctly.

You cannot skate this spot until after 9 P.M., when all the janitors have left. The security in the building rarely comes out, although it's been known to happen.

89th Street and Central Park East. Take the 4, 5 or 6 to 86th Street, skate north on Lexington for three blocks, make a left on 89th and skate west until you reach Central Park.
