Another Photo / Article Bag

These are a handful of scans from the east coast issue of Big Brother from 1998. The others are from the east coast based, short-lived, Strength magazine, from 1996, which was essentially a culmination of a bunch of people’s interests compiled into a publication. Seriously. There are sections in it where the writers unembarrassingly describe how they underwent freestyle and beatboxing sessions in their hotel rooms on tour. Thankfully, being born in the late-80s and coming of age during an era of southern and Jay-Z dominance allowed me to surpass an entire era that may have lead me to think beatboxing was actually cool.

Keith Hufnagel: Pro Spotlight [July 1998]

It’s hard to think of a skateboarder more ideal for embodying the precedent set by New York as the city only capable of doing ollies, 180s, kickflips, lipslides and 5050s. Huf has turned those five tricks into a career, and despite the fact he is not a huge fan of the frontside shove it, another widespread favorite of New Yorkers, he is forgiven since this is probably the last time Transworld ever gave somebody from New York a pro spotlight. (Pappalardo is from Long Island).

I believe there is a page or two missing, but am not sure, I tried to do my best with these as they are submitted scans. Thanks to Jimmy Marketti for submitting them.
