Euro Report: Part 5

Buona Sera miei amici, e benvenuti a Week 5 al Euro Report.

Sorry, I know that was really gay and euro of me, but you know it was going to happen.  Since pretty much everyone I hang out with is Italian, I’m trying to better my language skills.  I’m doing alright, if you can imagine a silly Filipino boy speaking Italian with a Florentine accent (imagine a kid born and raised in Bangkok talking with a Brooklyn accent).

Anyway, this weekend was kind of cool.  There were some girls from school who wanted to tag along for a day trip to Milan.  And of course, yours truly was gracious enough to allow them to come.

I decided that I hadn’t really seen the city except for the train station and the few walks I took the last time I was there, so I decided to walk around with them to check out the sites and what not.

Upon leaving this beautiful building encased in glass:

We came across the Piazza del Duomo (which is a big plaza with a real big and pretty church in the middle).

Sick, right?

Anyway, I thought that was so rad that I failed to take notice of the 50-some children screaming and holding up signs not 10 feet from me.

Then I looked up and saw a camera and some dude waving and I realized: holy shit, I’m on TRL Italia.  Yeah, pretty fuckin’ weird, huh?  Of all the places to be, I wound up at TRL.

After that, I bounced off the to train station to skate for a few hours, and if there was a VX around, I would’ve documented the fakie back nosegrind shuv that I did, but there wasn’t, so I had to settle for applause.  But all in all, the Friday in Milan was pretty rad.

Saturday was spent at Sesto Fiorentino again (see past articles).  That night we held the illest family meal ever.

Davide cooked a banging ass pasta with zucchini and sausage.

That’s my nigga right there.

I also unleashed my red wine porkchops upon Italia.

It opened to rave reviews:

That night the whole lot of us went to a bar to a party thrown by Gold.

Peep the sign on the right.

For those of you not in the know (which is everyone pretty much), Gold is a shop that is like Supreme but in Florence.  It doesn’t hold any semblance at all to a skateshop, but they run the tee game out here (and the stickers are everywhere).  Gold “e’ la moda a Firenze” (everyone rides Gold’s dick out here, so I was told).

Anyway, the party was packed and sort of fun, and I got plenty of looks of either disgust or worship because of my Supreme hoodie (WORLD FAMOUS SON).

The next day, we went to a skatepark in Colle Valdezza for some gay ass skate comp.  It’s about an hour outside Florence, halfway between here and Arezzo.  At the rest stop on the way, there was this dude throwing a 3 card monte game outside, and I actually watched a dude lose 200 Euro in one sitting.  It was sad and sick at the same time.

Kinda gay.

I watched the homies own the park and I sat back and skated flat behind the pyramid.  Oh yeah, and if you’re at TF a lot, do you remember that Italian kid who comes every so often?  He has ill ledge skills.  Anyway, I ran into him and we were both like, “What the fuck are you doing here?”  He MC’d the comp and we skated a bit after.

It’s hard to believe that I’ve made it alive for 5 weeks here already.  Only 8 more weeks and I’m home.  I know you all give a shit.

Oh yeah, no Euro Report next week, my girl is gonna be here, and unless you want a really gay and sentimental write up or something extraordinarily graphic, I’m not writing anything.  See you all at week 7.

Shoutouts: Quartersnacks Fam…Kosta, Pryce, Ty, Gigliotti, Matt, Ben, Watermils (even if he is in Africa), Weiss, and anyone else I forgot, Supreme…Charles, Alex, Ryan, Moya, My parents, Steve Marino, because the Facebook messages are ill, Anyone who reads this because I tell them it’s there, New York City, you have no idea how ill you are until you’re gone, And Caroline, I see you Thursday.

Until next time,
Isak Buan
