Atop of the five-to-seven stair platform here, you will find a structure that could be skated in a variety of ways. First off, it creates eight, three foot long, foot high granite ledges over three stairs, two of which (one for each side) are waxed. You could skate the gap in between the two ledges as a ledge to ledge gap. Each of the platforms is about ten feet long and the gap in between is a little under five feet, so you'll need to ollie onto one or the other to gap between the two. The top is also wide enough so that it could be used as a manual pad as well. It the back of the spot, running alongside 51st Street, is a narrow twelve stair. The runway is very ample and the landing is good as well, even though there's a bike rack twenty feet after you land.
51st Street and Park Avenue. Take the E or V to Lexington and skate up on 53rd for one block. Make a left and skate south for two blocks.
It is very sporadic. The guard sees you right away, but depending on whether or not he feels like getting out of his chair, you may not get kicked out. Sometimes he will knock on the window and not feel like opening the door, so if you ignore him, you will get more time here.
