sixth avenue

Here you'll find one of the most ideal ledge spots Manhattan has to offer. You'll find nothing but loads of marble benches on top of absolutely perfect ground, all throw together in a random order. Each bench is about five feet long, with some being more worn down from skating than others but there's only one or two of them which have noticeable wear when you're skating them. It's still better to roll with wax because it's the type of surface that doesn't absorb years and years of candles to its edge and gets worn off rather quickly.
52nd Street and 6th Avenue. Take the B, D, F or V to 47th Street-Rockefeller Center and skate north for five blocks. The spot is on the west side of 6th Avenue.
This is typically a night spot but is still completely unpredictable in regards to how long your session is going to last. It all depends on how lazy the guard working that day really is.
