museum of natural history

central park west

In the museum's from plaza, you will find two sets of three marble benches, both on the north and south sides of the building. The ones at the end have a slight curve to them, but make it likely for you to crash into the wall after you come off the end. There are also several foot-high statue bases that are waxed and easy to learn tricks on. If you have nothing against approaching a set of stairs sideways, you could also skate the seven set that leads up to the entire plaza. And if you prefer something smaller, there is a chin to drop gap over a low chain, down a five foot drop onto the sidewalk.
80th Street and Amsterdam. Take the B or C train to 81st Street-Museum of Natural History and it is right outside.
You can only skate here after the Museum closes and all the people leave which is around 7:00 P.M., but even then security gaurds make circles around the building a lot of the time and may kick you out in any amount of time from five minutes to never depending on your luck. Usually, you should expect to be here under a half hour before they kick you out.
